In January 2010, the Center for REALTOR® Technology (CRT) extended an email survey invitation to 45,000 random REALTORS® who have provided NAR with an email address. Close to 1,500 responded to the survey. 93% of those indicated that they were 40 years old or younger use a smartphone to conduct real estate business.

I realize I’m a little biased in the world of smartphones. In the interest of full disclosure, I am a proud iPhone user. I love the apps, the ease of use, the large screen and the ‘bells and whistles.’ In real estate, having a smartphone is not just an option but a necessity.

WellcomeMat, the online real estate video site, has launched a new iPhone available available today in the iTunes App Store. Using the app you can now shoot off-the-cuff video walkthrus of your listings on your iPhone 3GS and post them immediately to WellcomeMat, Twitter, YouTube and Facebook. From their post on their blog : Do it yourself video just got a helluva lot easier and we are glad to be the company making it happen.

Says CEO Glenn Kelman, via Techcrunch …the run rate is around $15 million. 2007 revenues were $5 million, 2006 revenues were $1 million. Congrats to all the folks at Redfin.

Realogy brand Better Homes and Gardens launched its revamped web site . Lots of new content, including a revamped video section and brand new video platform (provided by Brightcove). All very cool and it looks great
